For this assignment, I used prompts that provided ChatGPT with as much information as possible so it could generate two alternate versions of my resume. In my first message, I explained exactly what I needed: two resumes tailored to different job paths, one for a Director of Operations role and one for a coaching position. I also uploaded my original resume so the AI had all the necessary background information about my experience, education, and skills. While my original resume was solid, it wasn’t specifically targeted for each job type, so I made sure to describe clearly what I wanted each version to emphasize.
What I really liked about using AI for this is how practical it feels for life after college. Being able to instantly tailor a resume for different career opportunities is something I can see myself using in the future. I also learned that the more detailed I am with my instructions and personal information, the better the results are. ChatGPT can only work with what you give it, so being specific made a huge difference in producing professional, accurate resumes that match the roles I’m aiming for.
